here is a new ZULU Trainer Canopy. Carbon-Style, white bottom. 2.9 g.
Here is a tool I made to hold the stator when re-winding micro-sized brushless outrunner motors like the HP series (HP08, HP08-2, HP06, HP07). Materials used is a M5 threaded rod, M5 nut, and two pieces of a brass tube (5mmx6mm). The handle is from an old paint roll.
I rewound the HP08-2 with a winding scheme originally posted by Terry74 (thanks Jay!). Its 2 strands of 30 AWG (0.255mm) magnet wire, 5 turns, delta. Lots of detailed information on winding schemes and diy brushless motors can be found at the great website powercroco.de. Very good magnet wire can be found at Brocotts UK (search eBay).
For the record: Original winding of my HP08-2 bought from WOW Hobbies was 3 strands of appr. 0.2mm, 5 turns delta.
here is the silver version almost finished (sorry, I should have dusted off the canopy for the photo
, anyway, you get the details). weight as in pic is 4.7g, or about 0.7g more than the stock canopy.
the kit:
A new canopy design for the Walkera 4G6 / 4#6. With inspiration from the Henseleit MP and Three Dee RIGID canopy, I made this canopy longer and tightly closed around the swashplate.
Its easy to put on and uses the original rubber grommets and canopy mount.
And the best part: at 3.5gm it’s even lighter than the original canopy. Here are two pics one of the first prototypes. Still working on the colors and decal sets.
Mario took some slow motion shots of me doing the first outdoor flights with the Walkera 4G6 this year.
Heli-Max has posted a nice promo-vid for their rebranded Walkera 4G6. Some great flying, inverted funnels and the like. I also like that they have the plastic rotor head in their setup. Nice canopy design, too.
